Throughbolts

Throughbolts available in a variety of sizes at great prices. Throughbolts are a type of torque-controlled anchor designed to fix wood into concrete and walls. As the name suggests, the bolts are fixed through the material into the substrate and then tightened to secure the timber. They use expansion and friction with the fixing process pulling the cone of the bolt into the sleeve and locking the bolt into the masonry.

Available in a variety of sizes and supplied in A4 stainless steel and zinc plated, which can have a yellow tint or more of a bright zinc appearance. Both offer the same level of resistance to corrosion.

What is a throughbolt?

Throughbolts are a type of mechanical fixing which uses expansion and friction as a means of fixing itself and various materials in place. When tightened a cone at the end of the bolt is pulled into the shaft. This makes the bolt expand within the pre-drilled hole allowing for a tight and secure fixing.

What are throughbolts used for?

Throughbolts are used by fixing through the material into the substrate and within pre-drilled holes. Primarily used to fix wood to concrete and masonry.

What are through bolts made from?

The through bolts are supplied from Fusion Fixings in A4 stainless steel and zinc plated. The zinc plated bolts can come with a yellow passivation or more of a bright zinc passivation. Both offer the same level of resistance to corrosion. For a robust and longer lasting corrosion resistance, the A4 throughbolts should be used.
