Nyloc Nuts (Nylon Insert Nuts)
Nyloc nuts, great prices, bulk discounts
If vibration and movement are a concern the Nyloc nut is a great choice. A hex nut with a nylon insert designed to allow for a tighter hold and resistance against loosening from vibration and movement.
The thread of the fastener cuts into the nylon insert during installation creating a secure hold and commonly used where movement and vibration is a concern.
The nylon insert also creates a seal against the ingress of liquids making these hexagon nuts a versatile choice.
Available in a comprehensive range of sizes and materials including P-Type (high-type) and T-Type varieties with bulk price discounts.

What is a Nylon nut?
A Nyloc nut is also known as a nylon insert nut and is a type of mechanical fastener manufactured from several different materials. The nuts come in various diameters and threads to accommodate the wealth of requirements across many industries.
The Nyloc nut is like many of the hex nuts on the market but is supplied with an internal nylon insert allowing for additional hold when vibration and movement are a concern.
The nylon insert presses against the bolt thread and increases the tightening pressure allowing for a firmer hold.
Available in two types which includes a ‘T’ type and a ‘P’ type. Both are generally the same but the ‘P’ type has a little thicker insert and allows for more of a firmer hold.
Please be aware - They can not be used in high-temperature applications as the Nylon insert would melt.
What are Nyloc nuts used for?
Nyloc nuts are used across many industries where vibration and movement are a concern. The nylon insert allows the thread from the fastener to cut into it which helps with an increased hold against movement and vibration.
There is an added advantage with the Nyloc nut, as the insert also helps in sealing the bolt against the ingress of various liquids.
What are nylon insert nuts made from?
The nylon insert nuts here at Fusion Fixings are manufactured from various materials including A2 / A4 stainless steel, steel with BZP - bright zinc plated, brass, self-colour steel and hot dip galvanised steel.
All have their own properties, but the combination of these materials covers a range of requirements across many industries.
